Garage Door Weather Seal Replacement in Worcester, MA

Daylight under the door, puddles after rain, leaves and mice getting in, or a bottom seal frozen to the floor? New weather seals keep your garage drier and warmer, and keep the critters out.

Signs your garage door seals need replacing

  • You can see daylight under or around the closed door
  • The bottom rubber is cracked, flattened, torn or missing in spots
  • Water, snow or leaves blow in under the door
  • Mice or other critters are getting into the garage
  • The bottom seal freezes to the slab in winter and tears
  • The room next to or above the garage is always cold

Seals we replace

Bottom seal

The rubber or vinyl strip on the bottom of the door. We match the retainer type (T-style, bulb or J-style) and fit it to uneven slabs, which are common in older Worcester garages.

Perimeter weatherstripping

The flexible stop molding along the sides and top of the door frame, which blocks drafts and blowing snow.

Threshold seals

A raised strip on the garage floor that helps stop water from running in when the driveway slopes toward the garage.

Frozen bottom seal? Do this first

Don't keep pressing the opener. That can tear the seal or strain the opener. Break the ice gently along the bottom, or warm it with a hair dryer, and clear snow and water from the slab. Then consider a new seal and a fall tune-up to prevent it next time. For drafty doors, an insulated garage door may be worth a look.
